Up to one fewer than your numbers per line, from 1 to 80. They stay on every line, and the generator fills in the rest.

Numbers with a gold ring are the ones you kept.

How to use the generator

  1. 1

Choose how many numbers per line. This is your prize group, so ten numbers puts you in prize group 10.

  2. 2

Choose how many lines you want.

  3. 3

To keep some numbers, open "Keep my numbers" and enter them. They stay on every line.

  4. 4

Press "Generate numbers". Press again for a new set, or use "Copy all" to save them.

How many numbers should you pick?

It depends on what you want from the game. With fewer numbers, you win more often but the top prize is smaller. Pick one number and you have a 1 in 4 chance of matching it. Pick ten and the chance of matching all ten is about 1 in 8.9 million, but that's where the biggest Keno prize sits. The generator gives you random numbers for whichever prize group you choose; it doesn't change the odds.

Will random numbers improve my chances?

No. Twenty numbers are drawn from 80, and every number has the same chance in every draw. Numbers don't get "due" and they don't run "hot". A generator simply saves time and gives you a spread you wouldn't have picked yourself.

What to do with your numbers

Play them at a Lotto NZ retailer or in MyLotto. Keno is drawn several times a day, so the same line can go into more than one draw. Open "Analyse" on any line to see how often each number has been drawn and when it last came up.

Keno number generator FAQ

Is the Keno number generator free?

Yes. No sign-up, nothing to buy. You play the numbers through Lotto NZ.

Are the numbers really random?

Yes. They come from a cryptographically secure random source, and every number from 1 to 80 has the same chance on each line.

Can I generate more than ten numbers?

No. A Keno line takes one to ten numbers, so the generator matches that.

Is this the same as a Keno Dip?

Close. A Dip lets the Lotto NZ terminal choose for you. Here you see the numbers first and can keep some of your own.
